Pink, pink, pink and orange!

Pink, pink, pink and orange!

Hi!
As you can see I’m getting back into my blogging every day! Another birthday card for Think Pink using Sweet Sketch (a really fun sketch to work with) hopefully I can raise some cash for cancer research with them. I’m finding the murky lighting difficult for photos at the minute- might have to build a mini studio when I have time!

I used the photo of the Stampin’ royalty colours to colour match my digital papers I made on Craft Artist. I used a pink frame with circles. as the basis of my patterns. I then used a pink Sakura glaze pen and orange Sakura souffle pen to add some detailing and to make it pop. I tore some pink fibrous paper and stamped orange circles on it using a wine cork.

I made circle embellishments by printing from Craft Artist and then adding pearls I had coloured orange. I mounted them and my image using foam pads. I then attached my sentiment using pearl brads I had coloured orange and fixed it with a curve on it to add dimension.

I also used a pink sakura glaze pen to highlight the middle of the sentiment.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and flexmarkers.

I designed a matching inside but put all the elements on 1 layer to print.

A good few hours of fun! I would like to enter the following challenges

Having a sketchy Sunday!

Having a sketchy Sunday!

Hi everyone! I wanted to use another sketch today- I find they help me when I’m in a rut or mojoless. This time I used sketch and stash- a great combination for a challenge as it also helped me to use up some scraps I have created recently. I have been playing with my new Daydream digikit in craft artist 2 and a lot of the papers I made are therefore teal and pink- I love this colour combo. Hence some matching scraps and I just designed a couple of things to finish off using the same colour scheme.
I’ve used pearlescent papers for printing and it was tough to get good photos today.

I used tumbled glass distress ink around the edges of my card- hopefully it was ok to mat with black card for the colour challenge- I had more scraps I wanted to use up and thought you wouldn’t mind as it is neutral!!

I decided to stay simple with my embellishments as there were quite a few layers- some pearls coloured pink on some of the flowers in my patterned paper and 3 of my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. It was really difficult to resist adding more flowers but I thought it would look too much!

The sentiment isn’t showing too well but it is happy birthday.

I coloured my Saturated Canary digi with promarkers- my first attempt at black hair.

I decorated the inside with a kaleidoscope paper I had created.

Think pink

Think pink

I wanted to make some cards to make some money for cancer charities this month. Krista Smith kindly created the digi I am using- as ever it is beautiful and I only hope I do it justice with my cards.
I decided to use the colours from the colour Q challenge and to go with a think pink theme for a birthday card.

This is my card

I love this layout which is from the graphicat challenge (see end of post). I made my digital papers using Craft Artist so I could colour match them for the colour Q challenge. I used spun sugar distress ink on the edge of the card and black pearlescent ink around the edges of the pink layers. I made the pink patterned paper using blended spun sugar ink on pearlescent paper and then a damask stamp with slightly darker pink ink. I used some pearls coloured black to embellish.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I then used pink pearlescent ink to do some highlighting on the image and paper.

I decorated the inside of the card to match.

Cute as a button!

Cute as a button!

Hi everyone!
I’m trying to catch up on some blogging. I’ve been crafting lots but it’s been to make displays at work and I haven’t really been able to blog about them.
A new arrival in the family warrants a cute card. I made it in a rush so decided to use Craft Artist and keep it to one layer physically. As usual I have blurred the photo and message inside to protect privacy- it doesn’t look blurry in real life!!

The benefit of using Craft Artist is also that I could colour match the papers and embellishments to the blanket in the crib. This allowed a monochrome look which I think adds to the cute factor. I used sage distress ink on the edges of the card.

I decided to go for buttons, bows, ribbons and teddies for embellishments and  I made the paper using polka dots to match the blanket in the crib as well as using some patchwork material DP.

So there it is- cute as a button just like the baby!!

Pink and girlie flower power!

Pink and girlie flower power!

Hi!
I’m still very behind with my blogging- I’ve been crafting but not necessarily getting cards done.
This is a girlie birthday card I’ve made. It needed to be posted so had to be quite flat.

I used a LOTV die cut as I was in a rush! I coloured the background using distress ink and also used it to edge the card.
The beautiful background paper was from stash and meant I could keep my embellies simple- ribbons, a flower from stash and  gem flower and butterflies coloured with my Promarker.
I was in such a rush to post this that I only took one photo and forgot to show the matching decoration inside!

Proud as a peacock.

Proud as a peacock.

I absolutely love the colours of peacock feathers and while on holidays I had a chance to take some photos of some. I’m going to build up a digikit and to start I made this congratulations card for the things with wings and bird challenges (see end of post).
I inked the edges of the card with distress ink. I made the backing paper using a close up photograph of the peacock back feathers- they have a beautiful scallop shape. Hopefully there is enough glitz and glamour for the paper shelter challenge.
I adapted a swirl cutting file from Linda (many thanks!) to fit a square card and then added an oval in the middle of the page (I always love a good old flourish and swirl challenge!). As ever my Cougar has cut it my textured card brilliantly- I’m loving to have enough time to play properly.

In the middle I cut an oval on a slightly different shade of card and out it on with foam pads. I altered my peacock photograph to give it an artistic brush effect and I printed and then cut it on the Cougar. I layered it up further by making two more peacock feather papers to use with my sentiment.

A close up to show the cut an texture of the card.

I made the inside paper using Craft artist- I kept it to one layer so it is a flatter card but used the elements from the front to keep it consistent.

Anniversary card

Anniversary card

I’m finally having time to really get to know my Cougar cutter at the moment. Thanks to everyone over on the forum for their help- in particular big thanks to Gerti and Linda.

This is an anniversary card- hopefully not too girly!!
The back layer is a paper from Craft Artist coloured purple. I then cut the frame using textured card with my Cougar and blended Dusty concord distress ink over it. I used a sponge dauber to get more intense colour for the circle in the middle of the frame. I then cut a scalloped square with the Cougar and blended milled lavender around the edges and attached with foam pads.

I then used a LOTV die cut on foam pads. I sponged milled lavender around the background and added Perfect Pearls. I then added some Spray and Shine. You get a lovely shimmer at certain angles but it is difficult to capture in the photo.

I made the paper inside using Craft Artist- I added the cutting files over the backing paper and recoloured them to match. This means the inside matches but it is flat and doesn’t use so much paper!!

Angelic Christmas in July!

Angelic Christmas in July!

I guess I ought to get started on the odd Christmas card. I’m feeling a bit under the weather so I made this quickly using scraps left from Christmas and an LOTV die cut. I kept it quite simple and flat to help with postage.
Iused some glimmer mist on the doily.

It’s not Christmas without some stickles on the image!

The inside is matching but quite plain.

Going for a Summery feel with this card with some nice bright colours to cheer the day up. I made the digital papers using Craft Artist.

The digi is another beauty from Saturated Canary coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

I’ve been very busy making lots of good luck cards. This is the first batch! I decided to go for simple monochrome. I used a Krista Smith digi in blue and made the papers with Craft artist. I used punches to make the card asymetric and for added decoration.
Here is one blue card in detail. Stereotypically the blue is for the boys!!

 This is the inside

These are the rest of the blue batch!

An example of a pink girly one!
