Flying in a Winter wonderland

Flying in a Winter wonderland

Used this lovely Winter fairy digi stamp for another Christmas card. I was trying to use up some scraps from previous cards in colours I don’t use so much.

I made the snowflake paper for a challenge and wanted to use it up. The light blue card was scraps. The card, image, sentiment and snowflakes are all different shapes to fit the challenges.

I coloured the Winter fairy digi with Promarkers and added some glitter using stickles. I stamped the LOTV sentiment and mounted it on a snowflake punched from scrap glittery blue card.

I made the snowflakes by punching 4 from green, rust and light blue slitter scrap paper. I also used disterss inks and a watercolour brush on white scrap paper and used that for the last snowflakes. I layered the snowflakes and added the blue embellishment from stash (kept forgetting I had them!).

I embossed the thin light blue scrap paper with snowflakes and highlighted with blue ink. I used a ribbon punch and threaded some scrap ribbon through. I added faux stitching with a Promarker and more embellishments.

I would like to enter these challenges

From tea to leaves

With walks in the woods and all the challenges with great Autumnal colours and pictures you can hardly fail to be inspired.

I used the colour picker on CraftArtist to match the autumnal colours from the inspiration and colour challenge photos (seee photos at end of post!!) I then made the various leaf papers using the colours (using either leaf backgrounds coloured using my pallete or using the falling leaves brush). I then added the faux stitching on computer and colour matched it. I also played around and made the tag. I then printed the papers and elements off.

I stamped the tag with my LOTV Wishing you sunshine all year through stamp with brown ink. I used a clear brad and coloured it with Pumkin Promarker to match the card which I used to fix the tag. I had to swap the orientation of this for the layout I was using as it didn’t look right on the bottom right corner (hope that it is still ok for the challenge!)

I used the Autumn Hapiness digi stamp from Wee Stamps (so cute!!). I coloured using Promarkers and felt I did a good job of matching them for the colour challenge. I also tried colouring the background using a technique I saw in a Letraset demo on Create and Craft tv to hint at the sky and ground without using solid colour.

I was inspired by lots of challenges so I may as well enter them all! Thanks to all these challenge blogs for firing my imagination.
