This is a get well card I made for a friend. He is a bit of a foodie and I knew he wasn’t keen on the hospital food so I used two Paper Shelter digis and designed the papers using Craft Artist.

I made spaghetti paper to add some texture and match the theme! He is Italian so I had to go with Italian food!!

I inked the edges of the card with black pearlescent inks. I accidentally smudged the inside of the card so I used black pearlescent ink and dabbed it all over with a piece of kitchen towel to disguise it. A rather happy accident as I may use the technique again!! I used red pearlescent ink to highlight the red sections of my image.

Sexy valentine!

Sexy valentine!

This is my valentines card for hubby!

This is my first Saturated Canary digi and I love how she turned out! I used my computer to put her on a background that lookes like a room and colour matched to the papers I was using. I coloured using Promarkers and then used some pearlescent ink to paint highlights. I took tons of pictures as she looks so different depending on the angle!

The middle heart is a circuit board covered with pearlescent ink and crackle paint and a couple of Me To You brads.

I used glitter and pearlescent ink around the edge of the card.

If you follow my blog you will know I’m having a storecupboard January- using up stash and trying out moneysaving ideas as I go. I’m also playing with my new Cougar!

My money saving tip of the day is using cheap baby wipes to clean your craft mat if you’ve been using glimmer sprays/ distress inks etc. When they dry out you can use them as a textured background. I sprayed this baby wipe with home-made glimmer sprays (I made these with a few drops of pearlescent ink in water in a mini mister) to give an impression of  sky and grass.

The beautiful cutting file was one that had been made by Linda using a pattern found at this web site.  Linda has a great web site with free stuff as well as some great files to buy. Her site is here. I used my Cougar to cut a copy in black card and one on lilac pearlescent paper (both scraps!) I then layered them as if there was a shadow.

My stamp was fairy on tiptoes from Lili of the valley. I coloured with Promarkers, mounted on a scray of lilac pearlescent card and lightly embossed the edge by hand. I also added 3 pearl gems.

My sentiment is also LOTV mounted on a circle punched from scrap card and decorated with pearls.

I also used pearls on a couple of the swirls.

Wobbly crafty storage

Wobbly crafty storage

I’ve been making some storage and I’ve finally finished the first 2 sections! Bearing in mind I’ve only been cardmaking for about 5 months it probably isn’t the best storage ever made and it is wonky in places. I’m really proud of it though and as I’m making it to suit my needs it is perfect for me. It is very MSE as I made it from mountboard and card from stash.
I made drawer sections from mountboard and then stuck them together. I reused some corrugated cardboard packaging and more mountboard to make an outer skin.

The drawers are for my Promarkers. I used the Letraset chart, coloured it in and mounted each portion to the front of each drawer. The drawer holds all the markers for that section of the chart and the drawers are colour coded for ease of use. The markers are in the right order in the drawer 😉

The drawers were made to measure.

The second section of storage is for my distress inks and perfect pearls. The drawers are colour coded again. I attach my blender pad to the ink pad using adhesive velcro. I also have a sponge dauber for each of them in the drawer.

This is the second storage unit.

The storage so far. I plan to make more tomorrow and play around with the layout!

More to follow!……

This was the card I made for OH for Christmas- following on with the squirrel theme!!

I used Nitwits papers and coloured my digi with Promarkers (used metallics as well but they don’t show up very well).

Tag it!

Tag it!

I made all my tags this year but didn’t have time to take photos of most of them. I got everything out of my scrap box apart from ribbons!! For many of them I reused sections of Christmas cards I had been given.
These are 2 of the tags I made and these were the only ones I stamped.

I used Me to you stamps which were free with a magazine. I stamped in silver ink and coloured with Promarkers (including metallics).

The backgrounds were done using Versamark dazzle and a little perfect pearls.

I mounted all my tags on mirror card and embossed them. I used a ribbon punch and then used ribbons from stash.
I really enjoyed recycling and this is something I need to do much more of!!

Another wonderful inspiration picture from cupcake inspirations challenge

I used the colours and themes of trees, buttons and houses to make my papers and print them.

I made a frame using buttons and a bow on the computer and added my digi which was coloured with Promarkers. I added stickles around the frame and used foam pads to make it pop more!

The papers I designed used houses (blue), swirls (pink) and pink ribbons with green trees.

As you can see I followed the layout for the Inkspirations challenge

Baubles!

Baubles!

Another Christmas card to add to the collection! I was inspired by this challenge photo from Christmas Stampin’ All Year Long and used the colours and bauble idea. I also picked up ideas from other challenges in my embellishments and papers.

Papers and embellishments etc on them are from Little Mittens Nitwit collections. The cute little mittens have buttons on them and I changed all the colours to match.

I love the button- it was one that I don’t really want to part with!!

I coloured this free Bauble Tilly Digi Image with Promarkers and added lots of stickles.

Teddy wreath

Teddy wreath

Another Christmas card. I’ve succumbed to attempting a card with a holly theme!!

I’ve inked the edges of the card and holly/ baubles paper with distress inks (red and some green towards centre. The sentiment was a magazine freebie.

I coloured the digi with Promarkers. I added glossy accents on the nose and boots. The fluffy hat bits were stickled and then I added Polar flowersoft. The background isn’t showing too well here but I used embossing ink and clear embossing powder mixed with turquoise Perfect Pearls and then heated.

For a special boy

For a special boy

I bought this Lili of the valley stamp for Christmas cards and wrapping etc for some of the boys in my family. They are all into Harry Potter so I thought it would be appropriate. This is the first card I’ve made with the stamp.

I inked the edges of the card with red distress ink and added platinum perfect pearls. I made the papers and sentiment on the computer using owls and stars as themes.

I added glitter to the red card around the sentiment. I added some red star embellies.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and used stickles around the edge and on the image. I also used perfect pearls on the top of the colouring to give some shimmer.
