Folding, folding, folding

Folding, folding, folding

Yep it’s my first attempt at a tri-fold card. Many thanks to the Top Tip Tuesday team for the great tutorial and inspiring DT cards. I’m really happy with this card as I managed to use lots of freebies from my stash so it was inexpensive but doesn’t look it!

I’ve used a Lili of the Valley die cut with lots of added stickles and also glossy accents on the robins and poinsettas. The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and I added stickles
TIP: It is easier to put stickles on your craft mat and catch the edges of the petals in it rather than applying the stickles direct (I find I use less this way too!)

The robbins, holly leaves, pressies and trees are all chipboards from a Forever Friends set free with a magazine and the papers were also magazine freebies.

Life is like a box of chocolates

I made this box to hold a couple of Thorntons Chocolate bars as a birthday pressie (testing out the idea for Christmas!!). Sorry I don’t have time to write much tonight!!

For a special boy

For a special boy

I bought this Lili of the valley stamp for Christmas cards and wrapping etc for some of the boys in my family. They are all into Harry Potter so I thought it would be appropriate. This is the first card I’ve made with the stamp.

I inked the edges of the card with red distress ink and added platinum perfect pearls. I made the papers and sentiment on the computer using owls and stars as themes.

I added glitter to the red card around the sentiment. I added some red star embellies.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and used stickles around the edge and on the image. I also used perfect pearls on the top of the colouring to give some shimmer.

Thinking of pink

Thinking of pink

I wanted to use my new LOTV stamp and thought it would be perfect for beautiful inspiration picture for the CR84fun colour challenge and for the Stamptacular Sunday sketch (see end of post).

So this is my card

I designed the papers on the computer using the colours from the inspiration photo but also using the themes from the photo (flowers, swirls and stripes). The papers don’t show up too well here but the backing paper is light with a light pink flourish pattern, the horizontal is pink flowers on white and the vertical is black, white and pink stripe.
The edges of the card were coloured with pink alcohol ink and perfect pearrlised!

I chose my LOTV stamp as she is holding flowers and also used a LOTV sentiment. I decided to only use shades of pink to colour her and I created the background and sentiment background using distress ink and perfect pearls.

Shabby Christmas

Shabby Christmas

I thought I’d try a bit of shabby chic for a male Christmas card.

I used distress ink on the outside of the card. I dry embossed the blue card with snowflakes and used distress ink to highlight them and distressed the edges with scissors. I used some snowflake and swirl paper I made on computer, added distress ink and used some ribbon coloured with distress ink.

I added distress ink to the snowflakes and to the die cut and then distressed the die cut LOTV image with scissors.

Sweet Blossom birthday card

Sweet Blossom birthday card

This birthday easel card has taken me ages!

I found a free Lily digi and used it to make the frame for Sweet Blossom on my computer.

On the base of the card I used more paper I’d made with the same digi. The butterfly was made using a MS punch (thanks for the inspiration Coops). I coloured some pink card with glimmer mists and Perfect pearls and then punched two butterflies and layered them with a slight uplift on the top one. I added gems to the body.
The raised card with sentiment was decorated with corners, flowers a ribbon and sliding buckle (WOCs) I also used distress inks to colour some lace for the background.

Another photo to show the 3D effect on the butterfly!

I decorated my flower frame with some additional WOC flowers and used a small butterfly punch in same way to make the little butterflys and added them in frame and added them to give a 3D effect on the top of the card.
Sweet Blossom was coloured with Promarkers and inside the frame I used distress inks and covered with Perfect Pearls.

Around the edge of my backing paper on the top of the card I used Stickles glitter and WOC corners. The edges of the cards were coloured with distress ink and Perfect Pearls.

Flower power easel card

Flower power easel card

I’ve finally tried adding flower embellishments to a card!

I have an age to add to the circle once I know the recipient of the card! I used distress inks and perfect pearls to do the background for the LOTV stamp. Image was coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are all WOC. I added a couple of gems to the flowers in her hair.

I used glitter spray on all the yellow card.

Keep calm and eat a cupcake.

Keep calm and eat a cupcake.

I used this wonderful inspiration picture for this card.

This gave me tons of ideas and I came up with this card.

I used the colour picker on Craft Artist to match my paper colours to the inspiration picture and used ideas from it for the papers.

The central paper is stripes to match the tablecolth and I made it and added the frames and sentiment in Craft Artist. I used a LOTV die cut and recoloured it with Promarkers to match the inspiration photo colours. I used tattered rose distress ink inside the frames and around the die cut. I coloured clear gems with Promarker for the cake cherries.

The ribbon paper with cupcakes was made on the computer. The next layer down was made to look like petal wallpaper like the wall in the picture. The background paper was also made on computer and features cupcakes. I coloured some more gems for the backing paper to add some zing!

Vintage Christmas

Vintage Christmas

Once again I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone. I’m not one for traditional Christmas cards and traditional Christmas colours.

I used a LOTV die cut with added stickles and stamped my LOTV sentiment in red with yellow chalk on the background to make it look a bit aged. Card and papers from stash (papers free with magazines) Bow and stars also from stash. I punched the gold card with star punches.

It’s a bit like Narnia

It’s a bit like Narnia

This LOTV die cut makes me think of Narnia becuase there is a postbox in the middle of the woods! I thought of using it when I saw some lovely tree inspiration photos for challenges. I used a great sketch but had to flip the embellishments so I didn’t cover the best bits of my background layer! I used distress ink around the edges of the card.

The tree paper was from stash and the snowflake paper was from the Snowman selection. I also used black card from stash.

I used my LOTV let it snow sentiment stamped in blue with added stickles and pearls. I punched two black snowflakes, added silver ink over the top, cut them up and stuck them to the back of the sentiment.
My snowflake embellishments were punches from blue glitter paper and black paper with added silver ink effect. I stuck them together and on two of them added a blue snowflake gem and to the third I added a bead that looks like a snowball with glossy accents and added some pearls.
