Summer Ladybugs

Summer Ladybugs

I’ve been so bust crafting I haven’t had time to blog. Was determined to post one of my latest creations today so apologies that it is short and sweet!!
This is a 60th birthday card for someone who loves the coast, sailing and used to go ballooning so the Ladybugs digi from Wee stamps was perfect. As usual I coloured with Promarkers, flexmarkers and also pearlescent ink.
The edge of the card was blended with distress ink. The papers were created using Craft Artist.

I added pearls coloured to match with Promarkers.

The inside of the card…

Inspired by the sunrise.

Inspired by the sunrise.

I struggle with male cards so I needed lots of inspiration. I thought I’d use blue for the Digital Tuesday challenge and then I saw the Can You Digi It challenge and decided to team it with orange.
I used a layout from the Critter Sketch Challenge

and thought that topping the card with stiched bunting would be perfect. So here is my card

I blended distress ink around the edges of the card. I designed my paper using Craft Artist so virtually all of the elements are digital.

My image is a Lili of the Valley die cut but I added some extra clour and coloured the background.

It is difficult to see on this photo but the orange edges around the bunting are a satin stitch effect.
I decorated the inside of the card in matching clours but added the sun and buildings element.

To garden or to relax in the garden?

To garden or to relax in the garden?

This is my birthday card for a gardener. It was inspired by the photo for The Stamping Boutique challenge.

I love gardening (although it’s not much fun trying to do it in the rain at the moment. I especially like when you’ve done some gardening and you can relax and enjoy a cup of tea out there!
I inked the edges of the card with distress ink. I created the background paper using Craft Artist.

I used a Lili of the Valley die cut and coloured the background and tree with Distress Inks. I used a LOTV sentiment.

In keeping with the theme I added twine and a mini metal trowel I found.

Christmas cuties!!

Christmas cuties!!

I fancied a bit of a change so had a look for some Christmas inspiration in the challenges!
I’m a bit tired so I used a Lili of the Valley die cut.

I made the Silent Night paper on craft artist. I went for shiny papers for the layers and also for the punched snowflakes. I blinged up the snowflakes and added snowflake gems as well. I stickled the edges of the die cut for some more sparkle!!

I’d like to enter the following challenges (thanks to everyone who runs challenges- they really help to keep the inspiration going!).

Special Spring Bedhead birthday

Special Spring Bedhead birthday

Another 21st card today and I also made some matching gifts which I’ll blog over the next few days.
Inspired by Spring Colours and flowers I used my new Krista Smith Bedhead digi as my other theme was books as the recipient is a real bookie!
I made the papers and frames using Craft Artist. I coloured the edges of the card with distress ink and punched the paper corners with a MS punch.

I coloured the digi with Pro and flexmarkers and highlighted with pearlescent inks. I’ve shown a couple of angels to show the pearlescent effect. Looks a bit OTT but it really just shimmers a bit as it catches the light.

I also made some paper for the inside of the card and punched the corners. I’ve smudged the message for privacy.

Lovely Lili for mum!

Lovely Lili for mum!

I was really happy to get the free Lili of the Valley pictures in a magazine. I thougnt this image was perfect for Spring colours and I used some ideas from their great ideas to inspire.

As ever I coloured with Promarkers and I used glossy accents on the balloons and nose.
The punches I used were all Martha Stewart.

The ribbon was another magazine freebie. The LOTV sentiment was decorated round the edges with a flexmarker to look like petals. The embossing was done freehand.

I made up the card design made up from a couple I had seen and using acette for the window.
The flower gems were also freebies and all the flowers were Wild Orchid Crafts.

I decorated the back with another LOTV image from the magazine coloured with Pro and flexmarkers. I added a panel with my message.

Pink and girlie because Spring is springing!

Pink and girlie because Spring is springing!

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while. I had a few projects on the go that I couldn’t put on here! I’ve got a ton of cards to make now so I need to get back in the groove.
This is a girlie card- Just one DP as it is so pretty I can’t bear to cover it up! I used pink distress ink on the edges of my card. I highlighted some of the flowers and the wings using pearlescent ink.

I added a butterfly gem landing on her hand and then punched a butterfly from black paper and added pearls. I made the flowers by punching pink scraps, colouring with inks, layering and then I used glossy accents and seed beads to make the centre.

I also decorated the inside.

I used a Martha Stewart punch and stamp kit for the flowers in the central panel. I used distress ink on the card for the sentiment and punched the edges with a MS flower punch.
