First box

First box

This is my first box for the birthday card I made yesterday. I’m pleased with it as I had to make up how to do it!!

I made the background paper with sentiment on the computer. I tied the bow and stuck it on the wreath. I used distress inks to colour card and the punched two butterflies. I curled the wings, layered them and added gems to the body.  I added a cluster of flowers from WOC.

Sweet Blossom birthday card

Sweet Blossom birthday card

This birthday easel card has taken me ages!

I found a free Lily digi and used it to make the frame for Sweet Blossom on my computer.

On the base of the card I used more paper I’d made with the same digi. The butterfly was made using a MS punch (thanks for the inspiration Coops). I coloured some pink card with glimmer mists and Perfect pearls and then punched two butterflies and layered them with a slight uplift on the top one. I added gems to the body.
The raised card with sentiment was decorated with corners, flowers a ribbon and sliding buckle (WOCs) I also used distress inks to colour some lace for the background.

Another photo to show the 3D effect on the butterfly!

I decorated my flower frame with some additional WOC flowers and used a small butterfly punch in same way to make the little butterflys and added them in frame and added them to give a 3D effect on the top of the card.
Sweet Blossom was coloured with Promarkers and inside the frame I used distress inks and covered with Perfect Pearls.

Around the edge of my backing paper on the top of the card I used Stickles glitter and WOC corners. The edges of the cards were coloured with distress ink and Perfect Pearls.

Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Reduce, reuse, recycle.

I realised a while ago that some of the packaging I was about to recycle would be perfect to use for card making. I decided that the matching bag with ribbon and tissue paper had great potential for a male card so I’ve put this together mainly using the packaging.
I’d like to enter it for CES challenge which is recycle and also for Birthday Sundaes button challenge.

Forever Friends stamp coloured with Promarkers.
Ribbons, tissue paper and papers from packaging.
Buttons, stars, gems and stickers from stash.

Wobbling into blogland and craftiness!

Wobbling into blogland and craftiness!

I’ve been inspired by reading blogs from fellow forumites at MSE to create my own. I am just starting out with various crafts and I’ll use the blog to remind myself of what I’ve done!!

Crafting wise I’ve done some glass painting and I’ll have to see if I can dig out a photo as I haven’t done it for years!! I also used to cross stitch, paused mid-project about 12 years ago and have been inspired to finish it now! When my camera is recharged I’ll try and get a piccie. I did an evening class in sewing about 10 years ago and made a skirt. I then didn’t do any until I bought a sewing machine in the last year. I’ve been teaching myself using the internet and books and will put up piccies of my initial creations soon. I’ve also made the odd card in the last few years. The last couple have been made quite quickly and are very basic but inspired by those on MSE I hope to improve!

Birthday card for a 60th.
Inside the card!

Congratulations card for other half passing his exams, sentiment is ‘To the one I love’ but it doesn’t show up very well on photo!

I also enjoy photography but as you can see I’m not that good at it!
