New baby scrapbook page

Hi!

Today I am still following the Creative Loops challenge theme of ‘new’ by trying something new with a scrapbook page for a new baby. I used Craft Artist to create the page digitally. I decided on some lovely spring colours. I love making scrapbook pages to frame for special occasions.

New baby scrapbook page

I must get back to posting more regularly- I think I might have lost a lot of the lovely people who used to visit and comment 🙁 Maybe it is the change of blog name and the fact the comments aren’t as obvious in the new blog layout too.

Cute as a button picture

This is the picture I made to accompany the card for a new arrival! Once again I blurred the picture for privacy. I used a box frame from Hobbycraft.
I used some of the elements I had designed for the card. They are colour matched to the blanket on the baby. I used some bright DP from my First Edition Hideaway stash and used sage distress ink on the card edges. I wanted to use dots on the paper and pearls to match the button theme.

I used ribbons from stash and coloured them to match using soft green Promarker. The buttons were from stash.

I coloured all the pearls with Promarker to match and pull my elements together.

Happy memories as we look forward to Summer Holidays

Happy memories as we look forward to Summer Holidays

I’m finally getting round to blogging some of my makes from the last few months. Making cards for several of my classes plud making these gifts for my form took me a lot of time and it was pretty intense but it was really lovely to give them personalised things as they are great pupils and I’ve loved teaching and tutoring them. So these are for their Summer Holidays!

I got hold of a couple of photos of the form (I’ve blurred all the information for privacy reasons!).
I created the background for the photo using Craft Artist. I cut acetate to sit in front of the picture as the frames did not have any glass.
I took some plain wood frames and painted them with black or red pearlescent paint. I used a circles stamp with silver ink and then heat embossed with silver.

I found these cute rulers on sale in January so I glued them to the front of the frames for the lads.

The red pearlescent ink actually has a pink sheen at a certain angle!

For the frames for girls I made paper flowers using punches and added red buttons.

The last in the matching set for the 21st birthday is a picture.
I made the paper using Craft artist. The digi is from Sylvia Zet.

I used Pro and flexmarkers to colour the digi. I highlighted using pearlescent inks. I used glossy accents on the necklace gem, centre of the flower and the lantern glass.

Last picture is at an angle to try and show the pearlescent highlights on the digi and the large flower.

Learning to dance in the rain

Learning to dance in the rain

There were so  many inspirations for this picture including the person it is for and these wonderful challenge photos (challenge detail at end of post). The pictures inspired my colours, flowers and swirls!

This is my creation with some words of wisdom.

I made the backing paper using Craft Artist and printed it out. I added some stickles to the clouds, butterflys and swirls.

I added glossy accents to my rain drops I’d designed and also to the beads hanging from my banner.

I used pearl and pink pearlescent ink to paint the edges of the petals on my flowers (which are from Wild Orchid Crafts). I added some pearl accents to my swirls.

I used a MS butterfly punch and curled the wings. I placed a couple of pearls in the middle.

Light up the darkness!

Light up the darkness!

I had a go at making my first picture. Everything still from stash!

I made the background paper using Craft Artist on the computer. I used a blue rope ribbon to edge it. I used stickles to highlight the butterfly and flowers on the paper.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used pearlescent inks to paint the edges of the petals. I also used pearlescent ink to paint the candle and flame.

In the bottom left I also used a couple of feathers and some skeleton leaves.
I used a MS punck for the butterfly. I used gems on the butterfly and glitter swirl.
